Beavers Fires and S’mores

Last Thursday, our Beavers had a blazing afternoon! We kicked things off by drawing pictures of fire and chatting about fire safety, then got our wiggles out with games like hide and seek tag and Red Light, Green Light.

Then came the main event: fire starting! Forget rubbing two sticks together like Tom Hanks in Cast Away. Our Beavers learned a much more efficient method of making hot sparks with Ferro rods. A few even managed to light dry leaves without the help of firelighters we’d prepared! And what’s a meeting with fire without s’mores? We just couldn’t resist!
